Kevin woke up at 4.30 am and we started packing our stuff. Then we went to Hui Hsien's house with Kai Sheng being the extra luggage. Then we got our shirts (it was an Adidas ClimaCool shirt and it's Formotion!!) I changed into it then we left for Shah Alam. So on the way there, Stephanie called up saying that she was there already, and the event starts only an hour later! So early wan...
When we got there, Hui Hsien's dad went trigger happy and started snapping photos, with my cam!
I was fast enough to react when he said "Smile!"
Then he had his wife snap a photo with us before the run
Note that our Adidas logos were shiny
When we were gathering at the gate, we bumped into Yi May, Peck Hwa, Adeline and Mei (sorry I partially forgotten your name, my bad...). Then the marathon began. Nothing much to talk about here... Run, run, run... Pant, pant, pant... Walk, walk, walk... Then repeat the run part. But must I say, about 30% of the chicks there were not just athletic, but hot too (2 in 1 combo!!) but hey, I'm not that demanding when it comes to taste. So Kevin and Kai Sheng sped forward and left me behind. But I kept running in efforts to catch up with them (never worked...). Then there was the drinking station. Wah, they were giving out shots of 100 Plus and it was too tempting so I took one. Big mistake. Few minutes later, I started bumping damn lot cos of the gas and it made me feel heavier. Alast, I could see the stadium already!! Syoknya I thought to myself: Yes a bit more to go until the... Oh shit... That's when I saw the road ahead of me wasn't a straight one I was expecting but rather the opposite: it was long, and winding... So much for morale boosting talk. I then realised that there were a lot of adults in the forties that are way ahead of me. I tak rasa puas so I kept running, thinking it'll be over soon and that I had a chance to clinch the "top 100 contestants" medal. I was dead in front of the stadium now. Then I saw the tunnel I was suppose to enter to go into the stadium. I thought it would end in the tunnel so I sprinted, burning the very last bit of my stamina. For the win.................. Not!! Turns out there was an extra 200m of land before I cross the finishing line. Lagi shit... Still I got the coveted medal and a cert to match ^^ Yay!
Then I saw Kevin and Kai Sheng, who both clocked in about 3 minutes faster than me. I clocked in at about 40 minutes. Then we went for drinks and cooled down a while. When lining up, I saw Wee Heng (ex-classmate of my Primary years), of all people. So we chatted for a while. Damn was he more buffed now, plus the braces. It turns out his schoolmates took FOUR BUSES to come here, damn indeed. Talk about hardcore. Later, we caught up with Hui Hsien's dad, who was talking to one of his friends. Beside his friend stood a kinda pretty girl (hey, I'm a guy what can I do??), she looked like Form 4-5-ish, about 165cm in height. Then I learned that her name was Sylvia (such a nice name...), she studies in SMK DJ and she was only Form 2! Damn did I feel demoralised in terms of height, that is. But, there's always a silver lining... Throughout their conversation with Hui Hsien's dad, I noticed that she kept peeking at me. Was she into me?? Honestly, I don't know, maybe it was the mole... Unfortunately, it started to drizzle so we had to make a move. Before we left, we took one final pic.
From left: Hui Hsien, Kai Sheng, Me, Kevin and Stephanie
and I was having a bad hair day... so nerd-like... sheesh
On the way back to the car, this building caught my eye so I snapped a pic
In the car, I asked Kevin and Kai Sheng about Sylvia on whether they noticed her checking me out. Surprisingly, they both agreed that she was really checking me out. SCORE!! I know this is very egoistic of me but hey, this is the first time someone I find interesting actually shows some interest too! Then we balik-ed home lor... The end to my fitness story, for now. Fang, out
