Interview, revisited

I've been too lazy to blog lately, and also due the fact I have awesome friends of which I can get new PC games from.

Yesterday was the interview session for ADTP students planning to enter the Student Committee.  This time, I was at the opposite end, being part of the council.  The interview session was from 9 am until 5.30 pm.  And since I had no class that day, Rachel (El Presidente) and I stayed throughout the ENTIRE thing.  It was incredibly taxing, but I guess, an occupational hazard nonetheless.

The first few were mediocre, nothing bad, but nothing beyond average as well.  But past the hour mark, and there were numerous applicants who got the whole committee nodding in approval.  Then Miss Malissa, my fun and extroverted lecturer, joined us for the next 5 odd interviews and, well...  I needed someone to wish me "Gesundheit"

I was organizing my notes typed in my notebook when the next applicant walked in.  Without looking up, I checked the time slots for interviewees next to my left hand, now scribbled (albeit neatly) with Rachel's favorite blue pen.  Carmen Khor.  Never heard of her, okay then, I thought.

The I felt a nudge on the shoulder, I looked right, pass Celine who was sitting next to me, and saw Miss Malissa giving me "the look".  What came next was the firestarter to that interview's brushfire.  Out loud, she said: "Hey, Fang.  She's cute!  She's cute!"  Since I was the only guy there at the time (the others weren't free) not to mention flanked by Rachel and Celine plus Miss Malissa, they poked fun at me indefinitely.

Then I saw her and thought:  Oh, she's in my American Culture class.  Only a few seconds later did I register that...  she WAS cute.  But hey, no double standards here.  The interview went quite smoothly, and although she claimed to be shy, she wasn't showing any signs of it as she answered tricky questions with quick succession.  I actually wanted to ask her some questions regarding her strengths, since she was home-schooled, thus having no high school activities to justify her ability.  But after Miss Malissa asked Carmen whether she likes guys with glasses, I decided to keep my mouth shut.  The interview was finished in 15 minutes and when Carmen got up, with no surprises Miss Malissa adds another comment:  "Carmen, one more thing before you go:  Fang is cute."  Following this statement was the uproar of laughter from my fellow colleagues.  Thankfully, she exclaimed:  Am I supposed to understand that?

Maybe she didn't hear Miss Malissa clearly.  Whew.

Now for the real problem:  I still think she's cute.
